In the Air..

Love is in the air – The phrase always bewildered him as a child. Love in those times translated to only few things – love towards your mother (father never made the cut on paper ;-)), love for your favorite toy, and love for the favorite bakery snack which always left you drooling for more. Material stuff made up for most of the part in that “love” list.

5^th grade as he remembers had an English lecturer, a lady, talking about love from one of Shakespeare’s which puzzled him more. He learned that not only did love make it into the air, but sparks flew also. (Probably should have written a whitepaper on how the supposedly-in-the-sparks acts as accelerators for the chemistry between two mortals.) But he still had questions on it. Questions - some things which make a kid different from the adults we pose to be now. And they fire away these stupid queries of theirs towards the hapless- their parents, lecturers or their cousin brothers who claim to know it all.

10^th grade – Love for another mortal other than towards his family revolves around some one whom he constantly interacts with. Ask any guy ( who is not shy enough to admit ) and a teacher’s name would pop up. The sparks never flew even then.

12^th grade and so on – There is always the first love – the bitter one for most part. Blame the chamber called brain( not the mind or heart – heck the heart does all the pumping and gets all the blame for the stupid brain) which ousts all reasoning at that point and makes him believe that the sparks did fly. Except that he realized it quite late that everything else near it caught fire and the burns remain and he couldn’t bear it anymore.

The “so on “stage comes with a price. If life were a database, God plays the admin and a pretty good one at that. Making you capitulate when it stops responding to your queries.

Then all of a sudden, Violins blend in with that sound of a distant piano (which you never heard earlier), your knees weaken for no reason, your favorite musician returns from dead to sing “Here’s your love “. Sparks fly and you don’t care if you burnt down the whole planet. You are in love. The place doesn’t matter. The age doesn’t matter. The color of skin doesn’t matter. The lingo doesn’t matter. Love is certainly in the air. A definitely hot air indeed..

Why does it have to be that the first game I watch of Chelsea's , after a while, have to be a defeat after being routed for a win from every nook and corner of football world ?

Wonders of Weather - WOW ...

In the offiicial birthplace of Aviation as they say it - the neighborhoods of Columbus, Ohio seems like a place where the " Wonders of Weather ( wow) " ** seem to happen every day. God seems to be so confused as in what needs to be done here.

9:00AM : I get lost in the cool ( better say COLD ) breeze which took me to places I didn't know.
10:00AM : Its raining !
11:00AM : Took my umbrella out and decided to go out. My mistake. Didn't look out of thee window . Its SUNNY . That won't really say it. Its so hot that I head back in for my sunscreen lotion .
I am back home now. I wonder what the weather will be like around 4:00PM ;-)

Ubuntu Rebranded

Ubuntu, the Linux distribution is going for a major revamp with the new release touted for April – Lucid Lynx. They are giving up the brown – yes , you heard it right . They are replacing the base theme from Human to “Light”. The move , which was highlighted in the Alpha 3 ( I suppose ) should be their answer to the long prevailing outcry “ Out of all the colors , why Brown ? “. But , being used to it from a while , I am rather ok with brown – seems a little more human ;-)
But the new logo which they have published has had some issues in the internet world which made comments which Mark or Matt Asay would never have thought about- Racism . It is too heavy a topic for me to dwell into. Some are claiming it as the narrow-mindedness that many people have about these stuff and as an attempt to deface the move. Canonical was already under fire over their switch from Google to Yahoo as the default search engine in their next release. Coming to think of it Lucid Lynx ends up being very important for many reasons. LTS (Long Term Support) – will be supported till next LTS comes in and updates will be available without any issue.

Edit : Forgot to add this one. Shuttleworth was approached by the LXDE team earlier last year with a proposition of adding a light weight Ubuntu ( Xubuntu is a waste - though its called light weight ) and it seems to have materiliased since the repos already have a "lxde-desktop" added. I tried the same and found it awesomely fast .

I didn't like one thing though - the default GNOME network manager gets replaced by LXDE one . ( not sure of the name though ) - Could be purged and gnome network manager can be added without much issue. But I didn't like the default behavior.

A Day set aside !

I have never ever come to terms with seting aside a day to celebrate things in your life other than some festivals or your birthday.The word women , to me at-least , means warmth - a mother's , a sister's , a lover's LOVE. Why do you need just a single day to recognize it and celebrate it? - I know the counter-arguments to it - " Like we do celebrate or recognize even if the day is set aside for it ".Still , look around and pass a smile if you can't really go verbal about it.
